| WeeBee Getting Ready for 2007!! Your input is needed.... As our District Convention approaches this weekend, we realize that our 2006 Trip planning is quickly approaching its end! So far we've seen a 5th year in Orlando, and in about 6 weeks, we will wish "BON VOYAGE" to our small group of friends setting sail on Royal Caribbean's Vision of the Seas, bound for ALASKA! With our Rivieria Maya trip and Cruise to Aruba quickly approaching, it seems that this year has literally FLOWN by. That can mean only one thing..... Time to start planning for 2007!!!! We already have our Mediterranean Cruise booked for October 2007 and over 10 cabins booked and confirmed thus far for that, but we will plan at least three other trips over the course of the year. As many of you know that have been subscribing to our Newsletter the past few years, every year I put out what I call a "Trip Survey". Well this year is no different. We want to hear from YOU, the Friends. Tell us where YOU would like to go, and where you would like to see US go. These surveys have proved very helpful in our planning in years past, and they help determine at least ONE trip each year! So please, take a moment, and fill out our Survey, and let us know where YOU want to go in 2007!!! Our trips for 2007 will all be announced and ready for bookings by EARLY FALL. Happy travels.... Getaway: Does this mark the end??? Well we just finished our FIFTH annual Orlando Getaway in June, and this year we truly stood in the prettiest Resort Community in all of Kissimmee!!! The majority of our guests chose to stay at the Emerald Island Resort, and what a treat it was!! The houses were simply gorgeous, the grounds in the Resort were manicured to a tee, the Resort amenities were plentiful... I could go on. It was a great way to finish our 5th year of doing the Orlando Getaway trips. Some of you have heard me say that this might be our "last". Well, truth be told, I haven't truly decided whether I'm going to hold another Orlando Getaway yet. Seems each year we've tried to outdo ourselves, by offering nicer homes, more features, and better itineraries. I think between last year's Getaway and this year's trip, you really can't get any better!!! So.... it's up in the air at this point. If you want to see it happen again, I suggest you take our 2007 Survey and mention it!!! You might just make this 'old girl' make up her mind... (wink) By the way - pictures from our Getaway are forthcoming; look for them in next month's Newsletter. |

Travel News Carnival goes "Wi-Fi"!! BY THE END OF 2006, CARNIVAL WILL HAVE WI-FI ACCESS IN ALL OF ITS PUBLIC ROOMS AND SUITES! Good news for all of you who bring laptops with you on vacation: Carnival will have Wi-Fi access available "fleet- wide" by the end of this year. Now you can get on the internet and keep in touch with loved ones faster and easier. Of course you must have wi-fi compatible equipment such as a wireless card / network and laptop that supports this type of technology. But for those that can't live without their laptops (I include myself in that group), this comes as great news!!! |
Follow-Up to my "Poseidon" Story (did she go and see the movie????) Well dear Friends.... the answer is YES I actually went and broke down and saw the Poseidon movie when it came out in May. Now since I haven't published a Newsletter in almost 2 months, I didn't report back on the reaction I had when I saw it, so of course I was just 'itching' to get back and tell all of you lovely people what I thought of this "Epic" (and I use that term VERY loosely). What can I say... Hollywood makes dumb movies. This was one of the dumbest ones that came out all Summer long. I'm no Roberta EPERT or anything, but.... this movie got a BIG thumbs down for me. Notice it hasn't affected the cruise industry at all, in fact, we have over 50 cabins booked on our Aruba Cruise in December! My theory is this: if a "rogue" wave ever hit a ship, it would take a nearly 600 FOOT HIGH WAVE to capsize a large oceanliner, seeing as today's ships tower over 13 stories high!!! So.... a 600 foot wave. Have you ever heard of a 600 foot wave? I haven't!!!! Bottom line here is.... Hollywood convinced me more that a place like JURASSIC PARK could actually exist more than it convinced me that a 600 foot rogue wave is going to capsize a ship that I'm on. So.... strike one for Hollywood..... it's gonna take more than a dumb movie to keep me off of a Cruise Ship!!!! |
