| A SNAPSHOT of 2008... What a Year It is Going to Be!!!!!!!!! Well what do you get when you cross a travel agent with TWO MONTHS of traveling all over the place? You get someone who comes back FIRED UP with IDEAS!!! I've been gone for more than 2 months, missing my communications with you friends, but accompanying the friends on some great trips. We visited Brazil, and Orlando, and even spent some time in New York. Everywhere we went, we got great feedback, tons of suggestions and ideas and alot of surveys through email on what we should be doing. And we HEAR YOU! We have so much lined up for 2008. It's going to be a great year. So here's a little "taste" of what we're doing SO FAR next year so you can "whet" your appetite and START PLANNING!!!! You already have heard that we plan on hosting a trip to the "outback", namely Australia and New Zealand. Originally we planned this for the early part of 2008, but as it stands we are currently researching this for October '08, possibly even early '09. We have sent requests to several large tour companies who are all vying for our business! So I'm hoping to get some great quotes.... Another trip that has been requested on our Surveys year after year (after year) is Paris and London. Two cities that are full of culture and beauty. We are excited to start working on this trip, slated for sometime next fall. Let's not forget the TROPICS! It will be FOUR YEARS since we visited this place, but it's time to go back... we will visit Punta Cana, Dominican Republic and stay at an All Inclusive Resort come November of 2008. It's long overdue and I cannot WAIT!!! But that's not the only Island we will venture into. Another island HIGH on the "Request List" is Ocho Rios, Jamaica, and again we will stay at an All Inclusive property. Dates are forthcoming. Did someone say Orlando??? Yes OF COURSE we'll be returning to Orlando for our 7th Annual Orlando LUXURY Getaway. Notice there is a difference in next year's trip... it's a Luxury Getaway. These houses are going to be the LARGEST and MOST LUXURIOUS HOMES we've ever rented. And the CLOSEST to Disney we've ever been also. Start planning... it will be around the end of June. And no, Cruisers, we didn't forget about all of you. Of course we will plan a CRUISE in 2008!!! But we will leave this one a SURPRISE..... Sorry you'll just have to wait and see.... (wink) We are also planning a new feature, specifically for those of you who are not planning on shelling out money for PASSPORTS! It is called "City Series", a program of weekend trips that focus on U.S. CITIES. We hope to feature cities such as Memphis, Chicago, New York, Miami, and others, all hosted by local friends in the area. So stay tuned for more info as it develops... So that's 2008 in a "nutshell". Details will definitely follow, and we will have a brochure ready very soon. |
WeeBee Friends venture into South America for our Brazil Trip in May The month of May marked the first trip we've ever done "overseas" in this case: South America! We ventured into the tropical, rainforest country of BRAZIL and let me just tell you: it's as beautiful as all those pictures and tv programs you've seen. The people are also equally as beautiful. Rio de Janeiro is a very unique city. I found the "Cariocas" (nickname for Rio locals) to be very friendly, despite many rumors that they do not like tourists. Not true! They were very helpful towards us. I found it amazing that the majority of Brazilians do NOT speak ANY English! I thought for sure we'd be able to get by at least a "little". Not the case.... We had to brush up on our Portuguese QUICK! By the week's end we could say Obrigada (thank you), Bom Dia (good morning) and Agua Sem Gas (bottled water). I think we did pretty good!! To my own benefit, the Cariocas understand a great deal of SPANISH! So despite our lack of Portuguese, with me there as a "translator" (yah right!) we were able to communicate somewhat. Unfortunately, we had limited contact with our brothers in the Copacabana area because most were away at a Circuit Assembly that weekend. However through some help from our brothers at Bethel, we were able to get in touch with a local Brother, Luiz Medronho and his daughter, who came to greet us at our hotel and escorted us to a fantastic Brazilian buffet restaurant. The rest of the trip was just as relaxing and enjoyable as we had hoped it would be. And don't get me started on the BARGAINS!!! We had a fantastic time there. You can see all of our photos on our new photo website, located at http://weebeefriends.shutterfly.com/. Don't worry you won't need a user name or ID to view the photos. We are also in the process of loading pictures from other past trips, such as Aruba & Barbados ('06), Alaska ('06), our Southwest Tour ('05) and others.... We will send out a note in our Newsletter when these are uploaded. |

2008, it Will Be!!
then cruise lines began featuring it. Now, get ready because pretty soon the Airlines will go Wireless! It was announced not long ago that beginning next year, several major U.S. airlines will offer wireless connectivity onboard their aircraft, especially for longer voyages. It's the latest breakthrough in our "wireless" generation, where virtually everywhere you go the "wi-fi" accessibility is available! There are still major kinks to iron out, but look forward to hearing more developments in the News about the "future" of air travel! |
Hurricane Season: What You Should Know Before You Travel The Hurricane Season is officially upon us. Many of you who do not live in coastal states have seen much footage of the danger that these storms possess. For those who live in the "danger zone" this Season is one of wait and worry. For most travelers, especially those with school-age children, the summer is the most preferred time to travel, so despite the uncertainty of where or when hurricanes will strike, many will still take to the Tropics for their vacations. So what should you do if you "must" travel during Hurricane Season? Well first and foremost, there is Travel Insurance. We always strongly recommend travel insurance for ANY trip you take, ESPECIALLY during Hurricane Season. If your trip must be cancelled due to an impending hurricane, your travel insurance company will reimburse you for your cruise / hotel and airfare. Also, if your travel BACK home is impacted by such things, travel insurance can cover additional expenses, such as hotel, rental car, or any incidentals you may incur along the way. Truly, Travel Insurance is a wise investment, and can save you hundreds, if not thousands of dollars. If you do decide to travel without insurance, then make sure you familiarize yourself with the Cruise Line's or Hotel's policies on hurricanes, and how they will compensate you for canceled travel. You can usually find this out on the company's website. Above all -- please be safe during this Hurricane Season! Happy travels.... |
